Marijke Schouten. Office manager
Committed, supportive, and collegial: that is the best way to describe Marijke. With her years of experience in the legal profession, practical approach, and caring nature, she is a valuable asset to our team as Office Manager.
After completing her education at the MEAO in the secretarial field, Marijke took various courses in the areas of digitalization and administrative support. Her career began outside the legal profession, and although she was given the opportunity to advance there, her interest turned out to lie more in supporting and organizing within a legal environment.
Since 2000, Marijke has worked in the legal profession for over twenty years. Within this practice, she gained broad experience in port and trade-related matters, including shipping, transport, contracts, and insurance issues. In doing so, she worked extensively in an international context and in the English language. Marijke also speaks German.
After moving to Brabant, she made the switch to a firm closer to home. Ultimately, she found the right combination of personal commitment, collaboration, and a pleasant working environment at Watsonlaw. The good connection with her colleagues and the dynamics of the office make her feel completely at home here. Although bankruptcy law is a new area of law for her, she looks forward to developing her skills further in this field.
In addition to her work, Marijke enjoys life to the fullest. Together with her husband, she loves traveling to unique destinations such as Tibet, Nepal, Bhutan, Java, Bali, and Iceland, where nature and culture take center stage. She also enjoys spending time with family, and loves gardening, swimming, cycling, and weekend getaways. Those around her describe Marijke as caring, spontaneous, and loyal. Someone who is always there for others, rarely says no, and draws energy from making the people around her happy. And anyone who knows Marijke well knows: you can wake her up in the middle of the night for sushi!
